Step 1: Preparing the Pan

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.

Step 2: Mixing the Dry Ingredients

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and ½ teaspoon baking soda.

Step 3: Creating the Wet Mix

  1. In a separate bowl, beat 1 cup granulated sugar and 2 eggs until creamy.
  2. Add 1 cup buttermilk, ¼ cup vegetable oil, 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon, and 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract. Mix well.

Step 4: Combining Wet and Dry

  1. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ones.
  2. Stir until just combined; a few lumps are okay.

Step 5: Filling the Pan

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  2. Spread it evenly.

Step 6: Crafting the Topping

  1. In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for the topping.
  2. Drizzle 2 teaspoons melted unsalted butter over the batter.
  3. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.

Step 7: Baking to Perfection

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes.
  2. Check with a toothpick; it should come out clean from the center.

Step 8: Cooling and Serving

  1. Once baked, let the cinnamon bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  2. Transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Slice and serve as desired, plain or toasted with butter.
