Kayla Unbehaun, Who Vanished at 9, Was Found after Dad Prayed Every Day for 6 Years to Find Her Alive…

Heather Unbehaun, accused of abducting her daughter from a suburb in Illinois six years ago, has finally surrendered, bringing an end to a long-running, high-profile case. She is currently being held at the Kane County Adult Justice Center in Illinois, facing charges of child abduction with no option for bail.

Just days prior to her surrender, Kayla Unbehaun was found safe in North Carolina and reunited with her custodial father. Heather Unbehaun had been arrested in North Carolina on a fugitive warrant issued from Illinois for kidnapping and abduction. Initially held on a $250,000 bond, she was released after posting bail, according to Asheville Police Department spokesperson Samantha Booth.

Kayla was abducted on July 4, 2017, following a parade in South Elgin, Illinois. Heather had informed Kayla’s father, Ryan Iserka, that they were going camping, but the pair never returned. A felony warrant was subsequently issued for Heather’s arrest.

The case saw a major breakthrough when someone in Asheville recognized Kayla from the Netflix series “Unsolved Mysteries” and notified authorities.

Ryan Iserka expressed gratitude to law enforcement and supporters for helping reunite him with his daughter. Heather Unbehaun is set to appear in court on Wednesday morning at the Kane County Judicial Center.
