Growing up, General Tso’s Chicken was a cherished dish in my family, reserved for special celebrations. However, I often found restaurant versions either too greasy or unbalanced in flavor. That’s why I’m excited to share this slow cooker recipe—it’s healthier than the traditional deep-fried version, yet just as delicious. Easy General Tso’s Chicken Recipe for the Slow Cooker:


  • 4 boneless chicken breasts, diced into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
