Heaven On Earth Cake

  1. Prepare the Cake:
    • Cut the angel food cake into cubes and set aside.
  2. Make the Pudding Mixture:
    • In a bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, milk, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Assemble the Layers:
    • In a 13×9-inch baking dish, place half of the cake cubes evenly across the bottom.
    • Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes.
    • Repeat with another layer of cake cubes.
  4. Add Pudding Layer:
    • Pour the pudding mixture over the top of the cake cubes, spreading it evenly.
  5. Top with Cool Whip:
    • Spoon the Cool Whip over the pudding layer and spread it evenly.
    • Add the remaining cherry pie filling on top.
  6. Chill:
    • Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  7. Serve:
    • Sprinkle roasted almond slices on top just before serving, if desired.
