A devastating accident occurred Thursday in Manitoba, Canada, claiming the lives of at least 15 people. The tragedy unfolded when a bus carrying elderly passengers collided with a truck at an intersection near Carberry, located 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg.
The passengers were en route to a casino in Carberry when the crash occurred. Rob Hill, Deputy Police Officer and commander of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba, confirmed the tragic toll, stating that “at least 15 individuals were pronounced dead as a result of the collision.”
Ten others have been hospitalized for medical care. Both drivers survived the crash, though authorities have yet to determine who was at fault. Disturbing images from the scene revealed destroyed wheelchair seats and walking frames, with tarpaulins covering the victims’ bodies.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson both expressed their condolences, offering their thoughts to the injured and the families affected by this heartbreaking event.
