Edward was heartbroken when he received a call from his sister, Sarah, with the news of their grandmother’s passing. What he didn’t expect was the bitter revelation that she intended to claim nearly everything, leaving him with nothing but an old blanket.

“Grandma Sandy has died. Are you coming to the funeral?” Sarah’s voice was emotionless over the phone.

“Sarah, how can you be so indifferent? Of course, I’m coming,” Edward replied, shocked at her tone. Sarah knew that due to his disability, traveling wasn’t easy for him. Edward had lost both of his legs in a car accident years ago.

“Yes, I can. There’s no will, and we’re her only immediate family. I’m keeping the house since you already have one. I’m being nice by telling you to come over if you want anything before I sell it all,” Sarah declared before abruptly hanging up.

Gianna drove Edward to their grandmother’s house, where Sarah refused to let him take anything of value. “I already claimed that,” she would say as Edward tried to pick up a vase. But it wasn’t the material items that mattered to him. The loss of their grandmother was the real heartache.

Edward’s gaze fell on an old blanket with a familiar, intricate pattern. Memories of his childhood came flooding back—he and his friends used to build forts with that very blanket at his grandmother’s house.

“Do you think so? It’s been in Edward’s family for ages. His grandmother probably didn’t even know,” Gianna replied.

Not long after, Chenoa’s contact confirmed that the blanket was indeed an authentic Navajo piece, possibly dating back to the 1800s. A Navajo expert visited Edward and Gianna’s home and confirmed it could be worth between $200,000 and $500,000, if not more.

Realizing the immense value of the blanket, Edward and Gianna decided to put it up for auction. Although it held sentimental value, they knew the money could secure their children’s future. To their astonishment, the blanket sold for an incredible $1.5 million.

When the news spread, Sarah immediately demanded half the money. “You owe me! I’ll sue if I don’t get my share!” she threatened.
