Demi Moore dons jaw-dropping dress to Met Gala – made from wallpaper and took 11,000 hours to embroider

The 2024 Met Gala showcased an array of extraordinary outfits, but actress Demi Moore may have stolen the spotlight with her most eye-catching ensemble yet.

Making her first appearance at the event in five years, the 61-year-old Moore graced the Met Gala red carpet in a gown made entirely of wallpaper. The eye-catching dress featured heart-shaped wings extending from her sides and a striking pink-and-white floral design. Moore completed the look with diamond jewelry from Cartier.

The gown, created by designer Harris Reed, captured the attention of photographers and fans worldwide. Moore revealed that despite its unconventional material, the dress was surprisingly light and made her “want to rumba.”

According to Reed, the project involved an impressive 11,000 hours of silk embroidery. “It all started with this incredible Cartier necklace that Demi is wearing,” Reed explained. “Inspired by the floral feeling it gave me, the entire piece is made from vintage archival wallpaper that we repurposed. The gown symbolizes her blooming on the carpet, with the design representing the vines to her thorns.”

Moore’s last Met Gala appearance was in 2019, where she donned an all-black gown with a plunging neckline by Saint Laurent. Last month, she also turned heads at Dolce & Gabbana’s 40th anniversary party, wearing a sheer black dress paired with basic black undergarments and simple heels. Her makeup was kept minimal with soft-pink lipstick and bold mascara, while her dark hair cascaded to her waist.

The actress’s ageless beauty sparked praise online. One Instagram user wrote, “She looks unreal for her age. BRAVO.” Another commented, “Her and Cher I swear are vampires and the most beautiful women in Hollywood. As a nurse, I can unfortunately tell their age by the way they walk, as well as Madonna. Our gait and bones are something we can’t fix with plastic surgery. Kudos to all of them for aging beautifully. I hope to be like them one day.”
