I Met My Ex-fiancé Who Dumped Me Because I ‘Wasn’t Good Enough’ – He Was on a Date & My Revenge Was Hard
I’m Nikki, and I’d like to share a story about how karma can sometimes need a little nudge. I couldn’t resist turning a routine night into the perfect opportunity for revenge when I saw my ex-fiancé, Mark, at an exclusive restaurant with another woman.
Mark had called off our engagement five years ago, claiming I “wasn’t good enough” after his promotion, as he sought someone more cultured. Though it hurt, I moved on with my life.
Fast forward to last Saturday. Mark, now 35, unmarried, and successful, was at a new restaurant. I saw this as a perfect chance to play a little prank. I requested the waiter to bring over a bottle of champagne with a note that read, “To Mark, who always settles for second best.” His date looked confused while Mark’s face turned red.
Knowing he is allergic to appetizers, I sent one over with a note saying, “Just a reminder of what you can’t have.” Mark struggled to explain this to his increasingly irritated date.
For the grand finale, I called my friend Sarah. She pretended to recognize Mark and asked loudly, “How’s your fiancée doing? Did she finally agree to an open relationship?” Clara, Mark’s date, was horrified and stormed out.
I couldn’t resist approaching Mark’s table with a charming smile. “Hello, Mark, I suppose I wasn’t so ‘not good enough’ after all,” I said before triumphantly walking out of the restaurant.
I learned a few days later that Clara and Mark had broken up. Yes, getting even can be sweet—especially when it involves a little bit of embarrassment. Thanks for reading!
