Eddie Driscoll Passes Away After Long Illness

Eddie Driscoll, a well-known actor recognized for his roles in popular television series like Sex and the City, CSI: Miami, The Last Ship, and Desperate Housewives, has died at the age of 60. His death was announced by fellow actor Jimmy Palumbo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Driscoll passed away in Los Angeles due to a saddle pulmonary embolism following a battle with stomach cancer.

Born in New York, Driscoll had a successful acting career spanning 40 years. In 2000, he appeared in an episode of Sex and the City as Fendi Man. His television credits also include a guest appearance on Mad Men in 2014 and a role in the beloved drama 24 in 2007.

Driscoll was best known for his portrayal of Randall Croft in TNT’s The Last Ship, where he appeared in seven episodes in 2016. Throughout his career, he also had smaller roles in films such as the action thriller Cellular (2004), the comedy Boat Trip (2002), and the crime comedy Breaking In (1989) alongside Burt Reynolds.

Driscoll studied acting at the University of Miami and completed an apprenticeship at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film, where he had the opportunity to study alongside Reynolds. He also appeared in the thriller Physical Evidence with Reynolds in 1989.

In the 2002 comedy-romance Boat Trip, Driscoll played a steward, sharing the screen with Cuba Gooding Jr. and former Saturday Night Live cast member Horatio Sanz.

Driscoll’s television appearances extended to the eighth season of Desperate Housewives in 2012, where he played a taxi driver. According to IMDb, he also had roles in Entourage, L.A. Noire, Days of Our Lives, Outlaw, and This Is Us. On Days of Our Lives, he notably portrayed the loan shark Eddie Diamond in several episodes.
