ITALIAN STROMBOLI
- Prepare the Garlic Butter Mixture:
- Melt the butter in the microwave.
- Mix in the minced garlic, parsley, and Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
- Prepare the Baking Sheet:
- Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Stretch the pizza crust out to almost the size of your baking sheet.
- Layer the Meats and Cheese:
- Layer the deli meats: start with the ham, followed by the salami, and then the pepperoni.
- Layer the cheese on top of the meats.
- Roll the Stromboli:
- Roll the Stromboli lengthwise and ensure to seal the seam well.
- Seal the ends by pinching them and molding the excess dough to the underside of the Stromboli.
- Score and Top the Stromboli:
- Score the top a few times with a serrated knife to allow steam to escape while baking.
- Brush the top of the Stromboli with the garlic butter mixture.
- Bake the Stromboli:
- Follow the baking instructions on the back of the Pillsbury pizza crust tube. Typically, this is the same bake time as a regular pizza, but you won’t need to par-bake the crust.
- Bake until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
- Serve:
- Slice the Stromboli and serve hot. You can enjoy it with a side of marinara or red sauce for dipping.
Tips and Variations:
- Customize the Filling: Feel free to experiment with different deli meats and cheeses. Turkey, roast beef, or Swiss cheese can make great alternatives.
- Add Vegetables: For a more substantial filling, consider adding vegetables like bell peppers, onions, or spinach.
- Herb Variations: Try adding Italian seasoning or basil to the garlic butter mixture for an extra burst of flavor.
- Dipping Sauces: While marinara sauce is a classic choice, ranch or garlic aioli can also be delicious options for dipping.
Enjoy your homemade Stromboli, perfect for a cozy night in or serving to guests!
