My nana used to make this all the time, and I finally found a recipe that trumps hers!

  1. Preheat and layer: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grab a baking dish. Spread half the Fritos chips across the bottom.
  2. Chili time: Pour your favorite canned chili (or homemade chili!) evenly over the Frito layer.
  3. Cheese blanket: Generously sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the chili.
  4. Frito finish: Scatter the remaining Fritos over the cheese for that signature crunch.
  5. Bake it melty: Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Cool down: Take it out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes (it’s hot!).
  7. Top it off: Serve hot and customize with toppings like diced red onions, sliced jalapeños, sour cream, and even diced avocado for an extra treat!
