Man’s girlfriend gives him ultimatum, either the dog goes or she goes

Moving in with someone is a big step and usually signals a deepening of the relationship. But what do you do when problems arise from the very start? That’s exactly what happened to one guy when his girlfriend gave him an ultimatum: it was either her or his beagle, Molly.

She loved him and wanted to be with him, but there was one major issue—she couldn’t stand his dog. In fact, her dislike for Molly was so intense that she told him he had to choose: either the dog goes, or she does. A difficult decision for some, but not for this guy.

He decided to post about his dilemma on Craigslist, but with a twist. He wrote, “My girlfriend doesn’t like my beagle Molly. So I have to rehome her.”

Then came the punchline.

“She’s a purebred from a wealthy area, and I’ve had her for four years. She likes to play games. Not completely trained. She has long hair, so she’s high maintenance—especially when it comes to her nails, but she loves getting them done.

“She stays up all night yapping but sleeps while I work. She only eats the best, most expensive food and will NEVER greet you at the door after a long day or give you unconditional love when you’re feeling down. She doesn’t bite, but she can be mean as hell!”

Of course, he wasn’t talking about Molly the beagle anymore—he was describing his girlfriend. In the end, he made his choice very clear, and Molly stayed.

It’s safe to say he made the right decision. After all, who gives up their loyal pet because of a selfish ultimatum? His girlfriend probably shouldn’t have made him choose in the first place, and now she’s the one who’s been “re-homed.”
