The Oscar winner—who turned 60 on July 26—has been quietly laying the groundwork for her comeback, and insiders tell Us Weekly she’s “enthusiastic about the future” and “ready to act again.”

Last seen beaming for photographers in Beverly Hills on July 12, Sandra took a self-imposed hiatus in March 2022 after more than two decades at the top of Hollywood. Known equally for her comic chops in Miss Congeniality and her dramatic depth in The Blind Side, she has appeared in over 50 films and earned a devoted fan base for her warmth and authenticity.

Her next role reunites her with Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic 2, the eagerly awaited sequel to the 1998 cult classic. A source close to the project says Sandra is “really excited” to rekindle the on-screen chemistry that made the original so beloved—and to spend time with her longtime friend and co-star.
