Targeting Tesla Dealerships
The FBI has launched a nationwide investigation into a troubling series of attacks on Tesla vehicles, dealerships, and a rise in swatting incidents—false emergency calls meant to provoke aggressive law enforcement responses. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino confirmed the active probes, underscoring the bureau’s dedication to transparency, public safety, and swift accountability.
“These incidents are serious, and we’re treating them as such,” Bongino stated. “Our teams are committed to protecting American communities. Communication and transparency remain our top priorities as we investigate the Tesla-related events and associated swatting cases.”
The recent uptick in swatting—a dangerous form of harassment where fake emergency calls send armed police to unsuspecting targets—has become a growing concern. This tactic has been increasingly directed at Tesla facilities, escalating fears over public safety and highlighting vulnerabilities in emergency response systems.
One of the most alarming attacks occurred at a Tesla collision center in Las Vegas. According to local police, a suspect dressed in black approached the facility carrying incendiary devices. Several vehicles were set ablaze, and the word “Resist” was spray-painted across the building’s exterior. Investigators also found an unexploded incendiary device inside one of the cars, and at least three gunshots were fired at parked vehicles.
The wave of aggression hasn’t been limited to Nevada. In Kansas City, federal and local authorities—including the FBI, ATF, and local law enforcement—are examining damage inflicted on multiple Tesla Cybertrucks at a dealership. These incidents, stretching across multiple states, have prompted growing concerns that a more organized campaign may be underway. Online chatter has informally dubbed the string of events as part of a broader movement labeled #TeslaTakedown.
International ripple effects have also emerged. In Canada, safety threats led to the removal of a Tesla exhibit from the Vancouver International Auto Show earlier this week, reinforcing the widespread nature of the concerns surrounding these attacks.
Attorney General Pam Bondi, addressing the media, assured the public that law enforcement agencies are taking the threats seriously. “Those responsible for these destructive acts will be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent,” she said. While there is ongoing speculation about potential coordination or outside funding behind the attacks, officials have not yet confirmed any connections to broader networks.
The FBI is calling on citizens to assist with information as the investigations progress. Officials stress the importance of community cooperation in preventing further escalation and ensuring that individuals and businesses remain protected from targeted harassment.
