DA Fani Willis In Hot Water, Loses Legal Case Related To Trump Prosecution

A Georgia judge has sided with the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch in its lawsuit against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, seeking access to her office’s communications with Special Counsel Jack Smith and the House January 6 Committee.

Judge Robert McBurney issued a default judgment against Willis after her office failed to respond promptly to Judicial Watch’s request under Georgia’s open records laws. As a result, Willis must comply with the ruling and produce the requested documents within five business days. This legal setback has placed additional scrutiny on Willis as her office works to fulfill the court’s order.

This decision highlights the ongoing legal challenges faced by Willis and raises questions about transparency and compliance with state open records laws.
