Maine Boy, 3, Found Dead in the Snow by Dad After He Was Reported Missing, Details

A grieving family in Corinna, Maine, is seeking the public’s support after losing their three-year-old son under tragic circumstances. According to the Maine Department of Public Safety, the boy went missing on January 12, 2025, and was found soon after, apparently having succumbed to the harsh winter conditions. An official cause of death will be determined after an autopsy by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities say the child’s father discovered him in the snow outside the family’s home on Exeter Road shortly after the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 8:30 a.m. State officials have indicated that his death likely resulted from exposure, noting this was an isolated incident with no broader public safety concerns.
A spokesperson from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services expressed profound sorrow, offering condolences on the “devastating and tragic” loss of such a young life. Due to confidentiality and the sensitive nature of the case, they declined to release additional details.
To help the bereaved family navigate funeral, memorial, and medical costs, the boy’s aunt, Desiree Ambrose, launched a GoFundMe page. The appeal includes a tender photograph of the little boy and his mother, capturing his warm smile and curly blonde hair. In her post, Ambrose described him as “a strong, loving, caring, funny, happy little boy” and implored the public for support, writing, “Everything and anything is very much appreciated.”
The online fundraiser, which aims to raise $10,000, has already garnered $5,590 from 142 donations. Ambrose also took to Facebook to share the campaign, prompting many supportive comments. In a particularly poignant message, the boy’s mother, Jada Haddad, expressed her gratitude for Ambrose’s efforts, as well as her own profound pain and longing to bring her son “home and at rest.”
We extend our deepest sympathies to the little boy’s parents, siblings, and extended family. May their memories offer solace, and may the community’s compassion help ease this unimaginable heartbreak.
