Dancing With the Stars Icon passed away

The renowned English dancer and television personality, who competed in ballroom dancing from 2005 to 2018, passed away on Saturday at a hospice in Kent, southern England, after a prolonged battle with bone cancer. He was surrounded by family members during his final moments, according to his manager, Jackie Gill.
Born in London in 1944, he began dancing at 19 and quickly became a professional before transitioning to television. He rose to fame as the head judge on the British version of Dancing With the Stars, Strictly Come Dancing, from its debut in 2004 until his retirement in 2016, after which Shirley Ballas took over the role. Along with Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, he also served as a judge on the American version of the show, Dancing With the Stars, making him a household name.
His manager described him as a beloved figure who made everyone feel like part of his family. “He was liked by people of all ages,” said his manager. “Len was the main reason why Strictly became such a massive success. He will be dearly missed by the public, his friends and family, and himself.”
The legacy he leaves behind extends beyond his role on television, as he inspired countless dancers and fans with his passion for dance and his approachable, humorous personality. His presence on both the British and American dance floors brought joy to millions, and his passing marks the end of an era for the beloved show.
